Our client is a global healthcare tech who are looking for a HR Business Partner to support two complex business units within their UK & Ireland divisions on a 6 month FTC. These teams are going through a significant period of change, including organisational restructures, evolving performance expectations, the rollout of a new compensation framework and an increasing volume of employee relations activity. This role will play a key part in helping managers navigate change while ensuring a consistent, compliant and positive employee experience. It’s an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to make a visible impact within a growing organisation while supporting key business areas through an important period of transformation, with the potential of moving into a permanent role.

About the role

This is a hands-on senior HR position with a strong employee relations focus. Acting as an operational People Business Partner, you’ll support managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle, providing practical advice, managing complex casework and helping deliver key people initiatives. You’ll be trusted to make recommendations, drive outcomes and partner closely with stakeholders across the wider People function.

Key responsibilities

  • Own complex employee relations casework from start to finish, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, flexible working and reasonable adjustment cases.
  • Ensure all cases are managed in line with internal policy, employment legislation and the ACAS Code, maintaining clear and accurate documentation throughout. [
  • Provide practical coaching and guidance to managers on performance, conduct, absence management and employee relations matters.
  • Support managers through organisational change programmes, including restructures, consultation processes, redundancies and TUPE activity where relevant.
  • Act as a key contact for managers and employees throughout the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to exit and offboarding.
  • Partner with People Operations, Payroll and Talent Acquisition teams to ensure employee data, documentation and employment changes are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Support annual people processes, including performance reviews, compensation cycles, talent reviews and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Analyse workforce data and trends, providing insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve people processes, policies and service delivery based on employee feedback and casework trends.
  • Build strong relationships with leaders, managers and specialist HR teams to deliver effective people solutions across the business.

About you

We’re looking for a confident and commercially minded HR professional who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, changing environment. You’ll be someone who has strong employee relations expertise, excellent judgement and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who can take ownership, provide clear recommendations and help managers navigate complex people challenges with confidence.

Essential experience

  • Significant UK HR experience, including recent experience in a senior HR advisory, employee relations specialist or people partnering role.
  • Proven experience independently managing complex employee relations matters through to resolution, with strong knowledge of UK employment law, the Equality Act 2010 and the ACAS Code of Practice.
  • Experience supporting organisational change programmes, including restructures, redundancies and TUPE transfers.
  • Experience supporting the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and offboarding.
  • Ability to operate effectively through ambiguity, assess risk and provide practical recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and challenge constructively.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing formal employee relations and consultation documentation.
  • Confidence working with people data, analysing trends and presenting meaningful recommendations.
  • Availability to start at short notice.
