Senior HR Business Partner – Mergers and Acquisitions
12 month fixed term contract role
My client is a global PE backed business in the automotive sector and they are looking for a strategic and experienced Senior People Business Partner to lead on global Merger and Acquisitions activity in a highly successful business.

About the role..
From the moment a potential acquisition is identified, you’ll take the lead on the people strategy-conducting thorough HR due diligence to uncover risks, liabilities, and opportunities. You’ll navigate the complexities of employment legislation across multiple jurisdictions, managing M&A and TUPE processes with precision and care.
Your role will be central to designing and delivering HR integration plans that reflect both strategic business goals and cultural alignment. Working closely with legal, finance, and operational teams, you’ll ensure that every transaction is executed smoothly and with a people-first approach. You’ll also play a key role in shaping change management and communication strategies that support employees through transition.
Beyond the deal, you’ll continue to support onboarding, cultural integration, and performance tracking-ensuring that the people side of the acquisition delivers long-term value. You’ll build strong relationships with external advisors and local HR teams, and stay ahead of employment trends, particularly in Eastern Europe, to inform leadership decisions with timely and relevant insights.
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Law, or related field
- Minimum 5 years‘ experience in HR roles related to M&A, ideally in a global or pan-European context
- Strong working knowledge of TUPE and employment law across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience working in or with Eastern European markets
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and influence cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commercially minded with a focus on strategic outcomes whilst maintaining the great culture.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, someone who loves data and what it can deliver
- Builds relationships and demonstrates trust quickly
Ideally for this role you will be fluent in one or more Eastern European languages, if not you must have experience leading M&A activity in Eastern European countries.
Location: Surrey, UK Hybrid working
Contract details: 12 month fixed term contract, would consider a 4 day week.
Start Date: ASAP – ideally you will be able to start within 4 weeks.
Salary: Dependent on experience
