Working Pattern: Hybrid (3-4 days per week in office)

A prestigious international law firm is seeking an experienced Lateral Recruitment Manager to join its New York office and oversee strategic attorney hiring initiatives across the firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for a legal recruiting professional looking to operate at a highly strategic level, partnering directly with senior leadership, practice group leaders, and firm management to shape hiring strategy and drive lateral growth across key practice areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute firmwide lateral attorney recruitment strategies.
- Partner with practice group leaders to assess hiring needs, talent gaps, and growth priorities.
- Lead sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management processes for attorneys across multiple offices.
- Manage candidate pipelines and oversee recruitment activity from identification through onboarding.
- Monitor attorney integration, productivity, and retention initiatives.
- Compile and analyse market intelligence, compensation trends, and competitive hiring data.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with legal search firms and external recruitment partners.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify innovative recruiting approaches and improve hiring outcomes.
- Support strategic workforce planning and talent acquisition initiatives across the business.
- Manage and mentor junior recruiting team members.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 6+ years of legal recruiting experience, including significant exposure to lateral attorney hiring.
- Prior experience within an Am Law, national, or international law firm environment strongly preferred.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commercially minded with strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Proficiency with recruiting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Demonstrated stability and career progression with a preference for candidates who have built long-term tenure within previous organisations.
