Location: New York
A highly regarded global professional services firm is seeking an HR Advisor to support delivery of the people strategy across its Americas business. This role will work closely with senior HR leadership and act as a key connector between stakeholders, centres of excellence, and shared services.
The Role
This is a broad generalist position providing day-to-day advisory support to managers and employees across a wide range of HR matters, ensuring consistent execution of firmwide initiatives at a local level.
You will play a key role in maintaining high-quality HR delivery, supporting both operational processes and strategic people initiatives, while partnering closely with stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Act as a first point of contact for HR queries from managers and employees
- Advise on performance, conduct, and attendance matters
- Support investigations and case management
- Escalate complex issues to senior HR leadership
HR Policy & Compliance
- Interpret and apply HR policies and procedures
- Support policy updates and ensure compliance with employment legislation
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Support hiring across business services roles
- Coordinate interviews, manage agencies, and prepare offer documentation
- Oversee onboarding activities and ensure a smooth joiner experience
Performance & Talent
- Support the annual performance review process
- Guide managers on performance management and development
- Assist with succession planning and talent initiatives
- Analyse HR data and support leadership reporting
Reward & HR Operations
- Manage employee queries relating to compensation, benefits, and leave
- Support compensation cycles and HR reporting
- Collaborate with shared services and internal teams to ensure smooth HR operations
Culture, Change & Engagement
- Support delivery of local people plans aligned to global strategy
- Partner with internal stakeholders and centres of excellence
- Coordinate engagement initiatives and HR projects
- Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a generalist HR role
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, recruitment, and HR operations
- Ability to interpret policies and apply employment law principles
- Confident advising and influencing stakeholders
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Experience with HR systems (e.g. Workday or similar)
- Discreet, professional, and able to manage sensitive situations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Technical knowledge of HR processes and practices
