Benefits Specialist
Overview
A hands-on role supporting the day-to-day delivery of employee benefits and leave programs within a fast-paced, professional environment. This position focuses on ensuring smooth administration, employee support, and compliance across a broad range of benefits offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a primary contact for employees and managers on benefits, leave policies, and related processes
- Administer a wide range of programs including health, retirement, insurance, and leave offerings
- Manage employee lifecycle events (enrollments, changes, qualifying events) ensuring data accuracy in HR systems
- Review and validate benefits data to maintain integrity across payroll and external providers
- Support employees with benefit questions, claims issues, and plan updates
- Coordinate with external vendors to resolve escalations and ensure seamless service delivery
- Assist with retirement plan administration, including contributions and employee inquiries
- Help manage compliance requirements, ensuring programs align with applicable regulations
- Oversee processes related to continuation coverage and leave tracking
- Support open enrollment cycles, including communications, employee guidance, and follow-ups
Profile
- Experience supporting benefits or HR operations in a structured, high-volume environment
- Strong working knowledge of employee benefits and leave practices
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage sensitive data accurately
- Comfortable working with HR systems and spreadsheets
- Strong communication skills with a service-oriented mindset
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and navigate complex employee scenarios
- Solid understanding of regulatory considerations related to benefits administration
