Head of Human Resources, London – Investments
An international investment organisation is seeking a senior HR leader to drive the London HR function and partner with senior stakeholders across regional and global teams. London is a strategically important office, home to several global Investment leaders, rather than the organisation’s headquarters. This creates a distinctive opportunity: combining close partnership with influential global stakeholders with responsibility for a regional people agenda, while maintaining strong connections with headquarters. The role requires someone who can collaborate effectively across borders, communicate clearly and exercise sound independent judgement-recognising when global consistency is important and when regional circumstances call for a different approach.
The opportunity:
- Lead the London HR function, combining strategic business partnership with hands-on oversight of delivery.
- Partner with senior investment and functional leaders, translating business priorities into a focused people agenda.
- Connect regional needs with global priorities, ensuring local perspectives are clearly understood and reflected in decisions.
- Lead and develop the HR team, working closely with talent acquisition and international HR colleagues.
- Make well-informed decisions that reflect regional market conditions and organisational context, knowing when to act independently, consult or escalate.
Your background:
You will bring substantial HR leadership experience within an international investment management, asset management or comparable financial services organisation within buy-side. Prior experience leading HR outside of HQ will be particularly important. You’ll understand how to build influence and maintain alignment with a central function while taking ownership of regional priorities and decisions. We are particularly interested in candidates who offer:
- Experience partnering with senior investment professionals and leaders whose responsibilities extend beyond the local office.
- Evidence of clear, effective communication across geographies, cultures and reporting lines.
- A collaborative approach, with the confidence to constructively challenge and articulate regional needs.
- Strong judgement and the ability to make informed decisions that balance global principles with regional nuances.
- Broad generalist HR expertise, team leadership experience and a willingness to remain close to operational delivery.
This opportunity will appeal to an HR leader who combines international perspective with local accountability – someone able to build trusted relationships, influence across a matrix environment and make considered decisions. Please note, this role is 4 days per week in office.
