Interim Fractional Senior HR Consultant
Cambridge | 3 days per week | Fully on-site
An early-stage, science-led organisation in the biotech / life sciences sector is seeking an experienced interim, fractional HR leader to support its UK site on a three‑days‑per‑week, fully on‑site basis in Cambridge.
Operating in an interim capacity, this role will act as the senior HR business partner to local leadership while working closely with an established global HR function. The focus is on delivering hands-on, pragmatic HR leadership while ensuring strong alignment with global people strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as senior HR partner to site and functional leaders, including R&D leadership
- Translating global people strategy into effective local execution
- Advising on organisational design, workforce planning, performance and talent frameworks
- Leading employee relations matters in line with UK employment law and best practice
- Coaching managers to strengthen leadership capability and foster a high‑performance culture
- Embedding scalable, compliant HR processes appropriate to a growing organisation
Key requirements:
- Extensive HR leadership experience at Senior HRBP/Director level
- Biotech / life sciences or highly technical R&D background (essential)
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience operating in interim, consulting or fractional HR roles
- Comfortable balancing strategic advisory work with hands‑on delivery
- Able to commit to three days per week on site in Cambridge
