HR Advisor
Our client is a global technology business with a growing international footprint and employees based across multiple countries. As the business continues to expand across EMEA, they are looking for an experienced Human Resources Advisor to provide dedicated support across key markets, primarily Germany and the UK. This role will play a critical part in ensuring employees and managers receive expert HR support, local employment law guidance, and people-focused solutions that enable teams to perform at their best. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to leaders while helping to drive engagement, talent development and operational excellence across the region. The company is remote first with the requirement to be in the office once or twice a month.
About the Role
As Human Resources Advisor – EMEA, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end HR support across a designated business area, partnering closely with managers and employees to support the full employee lifecycle. From talent acquisition and employee relations to payroll, benefits and organisational development, you will help ensure a positive employee experience while balancing commercial objectives and compliance requirements. You will work collaboratively with global HR colleagues, business leaders and cross-functional teams to implement people initiatives that support growth, engagement and retention across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with managers across the UK and Germany to provide proactive HR guidance and support.
- Lead and manage recruitment activity, partnering with hiring managers to attract and secure top talent.
- Support onboarding processes, ensuring new employees have a seamless start and access to the tools and resources they need.
- Manage local payroll and benefits administration, working closely with Finance and external providers.
- Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary processes and workplace concerns.
- Provide coaching and support to managers on employee engagement, development and retention strategies.
- Maintain strong knowledge of local employment legislation and provide guidance to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Review and update local HR policies, processes and employee handbooks as required.
- Analyse market trends and make recommendations on compensation and benefits programmes.
- Partner with Learning & Development teams to identify and implement development opportunities.
- Lead local follow-up actions from employee engagement surveys and support culture-enhancing initiatives.
- Contribute to regional and global HR projects focused on improving people processes, systems and employee experience.
- Support the day-to-day management of office facilities and workplace requirements where applicable.
- Ensure HR data, records and reporting are maintained accurately and confidentially.
About You
We’re looking for a HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships and partnering with leaders to find practical, people-focused solutions. You’ll be someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment and who can bring a solid understanding of HR best practice, employment legislation and employee relations. You’ll have excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels. Most importantly, you are passionate about creating positive employee experiences and helping organisations build engaged, high-performing teams. Due to how closely you’ll be working with the German office, a fluent German speaker is a must for this role.
Requirements
- Previous experience in an HR Business Partner, HR Advisor or broader HR Generalist role.
- Fluent in both English and German, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of UK and German employment legislation and HR practices.
- Experience supporting employees and managers across multiple countries, ideally within EMEA..
- Experience managing employee relations, performance management and organisational change activities.
- Exposure to recruitment, onboarding, payroll and benefits administration.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
- Ability to balance operational HR activities with strategic business partnering.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism and discretion when handling confidential matters.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
- CIPD qualification, postgraduate HR qualification or equivalent professional accreditation would be advantageous.
