Our client, a top large law firm known as a leader in the industry, is seeking a Legal Talent Manager to support a portion of their US based litigation group, comprised of roughly 150 attorneys.

The role sits in midtown NYC on a 4 day per week hybrid schedule.

Reporting into a wonderful Director of Legal HR, this is a unique and exciting chance to help shape a developing department in a newly created, high-impact role. This position sits within a sophisticated legal talent structure reporting up through senior leadership and plays a central role in shaping the attorney experience across a large and evolving litigation platform.

The practice is currently organized into multiple distinct groups with several hundred attorneys globally, and this hire will support a significant portion of that population.

The focus of the role is on attorney development, integration, and engagement. It is highly programmatic and collaborative, working across legal leadership, HR, and finance to build and scale initiatives that enhance the overall talent strategy within litigation. It does not engage in much employee relations, and no workforce planning or staffing activities either.

Core responsibilities include managing lateral integration efforts from onboarding through full assimilation, developing mentorship and professional development programming, and serving as a key point of contact for attorneys to ensure a seamless and positive experience. The role also partners closely with finance and talent teams on initiatives tied to productivity and development, while helping design and implement scalable programs across the litigation group.

This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, sitting alongside a small, specialized team. It is intentionally separate from areas like staffing, workforce planning, and employee relations, with a clear focus on building best-in-class talent programs and processes.

The ideal candidate background includes experience in legal talent, attorney development, or HR within a law firm facing off to attorneys, along with strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups. Attention to detail, communication skills, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset are key.

The role operates in a hybrid model with four days in-office and offers the opportunity to join a highly regarded firm environment while helping shape the next phase of its litigation talent strategy.
