We are working with a large, diversified group that operates across various industries, primarily focused on manufacturing and industrial sectors. With multiple sites and operations across Australia, they are experiencing continuing growth and are looking to add to their Payroll Team.

Reporting to the National HR Leader, with a dotted line to Finance, this is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned payroll professional to take ownership of national payroll operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working autonomously, and is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Based in the Sydney CBD, this role offers a hybrid working model with four days in the office and one day working from home.

The Role

  • Manage and process multiple payrolls across various frequencies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Interpret enterprise agreements, awards, and company policies to ensure correct employee payments
  • Maintain accurate records of pay transactions, leave balances, staff movements, and WorkCover payments
  • Perform complex payroll calculations including leave accruals, superannuation, redundancy, and tax
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, including processing back payments when required
  • Support compliance and reporting requirements including headcount, staff movement, leave liability, and FBT reports
  • Assist with month-end reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activities

About You

  • 4+ years‘ experience in a standalone or senior payroll role, ideally within a complex, multi-site organisation
  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing and payroll system management
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and award interpretation
  • High attention to detail, excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset
  • Experience using MicrOPay is highly desirable

The salary for this role is up to $100,000 + super dependent on experience.
