The VP of Total Rewards is responsible for developing, overseeing, and continually enhancing the company’s comprehensive Total Rewards strategy. This includes compensation, benefits, payroll operations, retirement plans, and related programs.

The role reports directly to both the Chief Financial Officer and the Senior Vice President of HR Strategy & Operations, requiring strong cross-functional alignment. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in payroll, compensation, and benefits administration; proven leadership capabilities; a record of driving measurable organizational improvements; and deep knowledge of compliance requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee payroll operations to ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Manage all retirement plan activities, including vendor relationships, plan evaluation, and regulatory oversight.
  • Coordinate budgeting and financial reporting for compensation-related expenses; review monthly accounting entries prepared by the finance team.
  • Maintain a structured and accurate database of compensation components, including salary history, bonus records, and equity‑related documentation.
  • Lead annual and mid‑cycle compensation review processes in partnership with HR leadership.
  • Guide the implementation and optimization of new Total Rewards or HRIS platforms.
  • Direct benefits administration, wellness initiatives, and retirement program management.
  • Oversee the distribution and communication of yearly compensation updates, including equity valuations when applicable.
  • Build compensation budgets, forecast costs, and provide structured analyses to support data‑driven decisions.
  • Partner with HR and Accounting teams to ensure alignment on compensation spending and financial reporting.
  • Conduct or coordinate pay equity studies with internal or external partners.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory standards (e.g., ERISA, GDPR, WARN, TUPE, or equivalents).
  • Collaborate with technology stakeholders to maximize HRIS functionality, data analytics, and automation.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts that enhance transparency, operational efficiency, and consistency across HR processes.
