Employee Relations / Compliance Specialist

Responsible for preparing correspondence, spreadsheets, and a variety of standard and specialized reports of varying complexity, researching and analyzing information, and conducting and completing surveys.
o Responsible for processing/reviewing screening results Association-wide.
o Responsible for ensuring compliance with internal/external monitoring departments/agencies.
o Maintains the HR/ER Divisions file system regarding discipline, grievances, and agreements.
o Assist in monitoring disciplinary actions to ensure consistency.
o Maintains effective working relationships with other departments/branches, internal and external agencies.
o Provides assistance in employee relations related matters and assists in analyzing data.
o Assists in preparing material and conducting training of front line/supervisory personnel in matters pertaining to policies and best practices.
o May function in a wide variety of situations requiring application of skills in employee / manager relationships.
o Makes recommendations for changes to existing policies to ensure compliance with new or proposed regulations.
o Assists in the interpretation of human resources policies and procedures.
o Assist in investigating and responding to disciplinary matters, complaints, internal and external complaints/ inquiries.
o Knowledge of federal/state/city employment, civil rights and labor laws, rules and regulations.
o Knowledge of training methods, practices and procedures.
o Skill in using Microsoft Office Suite.
o Skill in recordkeeping/file maintenance methods, practices and procedures.
o Knowledge or research and investigative methods and practices.
o Knowledge of mediation and conflict resolution methods and practices.
o Skill in researching and analyzing statistical or informational data.
o Skill in effectively utilizing written communication in the development of investigative reports, management reports, training guidelines, and written descriptions.
o Skill in utilizing verbal communication in presentations and responses to inquiries and complaints.
o Skill in identifying, diffusing and mediating differences, and developing consensus.
o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
